Reading & Discussion: “Magnolias”
The novel by Polish-born Berlin author Agata Koch is being published in German for the first time! In her debut novel, the author, who is from Milanów (eastern Poland), embarks on a search for her roots. The novel takes the reader through memories of childhood, coming of age, and later life experiences between Poland and Berlin, weaving together personal history with the backdrop of historical upheavals in Europe. In doing so, she explores questions of identity, memory, life’s journey, and the courage to make one’s own decisions.
