.. or how does one become a German writer – a German poet – after growing up in Romania? What is lost and what is gained? And why might this question be misguided?

A conversation with Carmen Francesca Banciu, Maria Bidian, Alexandru Bulucz and Ilinca Florian

Moderation: Alexandru Bulucz and Ernest Wichner

The echo of something that has been lost: this multi-voiced gathering of Berlin-based writers of Romanian origin focuses above all on what it is like to write in a language other than the one into which one was born. What is gained as a result, and what is lost? Is there a sense of loss – and if so, under what circumstances does it arise? What does it signify? Could another alternative have been conceivable? Is it not possible to live in Germany and write in Romanian?

The event will be held in German (with some parts in Romanian)!

Tickets: €5 / €3 (reduced) available only at the box office at the Maschinenhaus.
