Nataša von Kopp was born in 1974 in Baden-Baden and grew up in Germany, Japan, and Czechoslovakia. Since 2008, she has worked as an independent filmmaker, photographer, and lecturer in film and film history. She conducts film and photography workshops for children, primarily at the Academy of Arts (Akademie der Künste) in Berlin, and has been translating Czech literature into German for several years.
