Dorota Danielewicz, born in Poznań, Poland, she is a bilingual freelance journalist, author, translator, and cultural manager. In 1981, she moved to what was then West Berlin. She studied ethnology and Slavic studies in Berlin and Munich. After a stint in New York, where she worked for the United Nations, she spent nearly two decades as a radio journalist for RBB. For ten years, she served as the Berlin correspondent for Radio France International. Since 1989, she has organized and hosted German-Polish literary readings and collaborated with well-known Berlin cultural institutions. In 2021 and 2025, Dorota Danielewicz curated the successful German-Polish literary forum UNRAST Berlin, in collaboration with the Berliner Literarische Aktion. Her novel “In Search of the Soul of Berlin” was published in 2014, and in 2018 she served on the jury for the 9th edition of the Ryszard Kapuściński Prize. Her fourth book, “Berlin: A City That Never Wonders” (Wielka Litera, Warsaw, 2026), is currently being published. Dorota Danielewicz lives in Berlin.
