Corina Bernic-Heiberger, born in 1981 in Iași, Romania. From 2005, she worked as a journalist for Romanian public television; from 2007, she served as head of the book center at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Bucharest; and from 2010 to 2011, she was a cultural manager at the Robert Bosch Foundation. Between 2013 and 2015, she worked as a staff member and consultant for international literary events and festivals (including ilb – international literature festival berlin, FILIT – Romania). Author, freelance journalist, and literary translator (including Jean Améry, R. D. Brinkmann, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Herta Müller, Daniel Kehlmann, Peter Handke, and Peter Sloterdijk). She has published two volumes of poetry in Romania and edited two anthologies of poetry and short prose; her texts have also appeared in Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, the United States, Argentina, and Colombia. She lives in Berlin and worked as an event manager at the House of Democracy and Human Rights from 2020 to 2024. She currently works as an interpreter for government agencies and in various contexts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
